An American film crew from MastersWork Media are shooting a documentary in Finland on the Winter War, under the working title of Fire and Ice. The producer/director Ben Strout, who is also the CEO of MastersWork Media, has two Emmy Awards to his name from previous documentary projects. “For all practical purposes, the Winter War is unknown to the great American public. What we had here was a classic David and Goliath story, the kind that always interests Americans”, says Strout. The team began shooting in April 2004 and have travelled up and down Finland and into Russian Karelia, filming battlefields and the home front. Now the crew are here for their third and final stint. The film will be given its first broadcast on PBS in the United States this summer, after which it will be released internationally. It is likely to be shown in Finland this autumn.

boo on you Gary Bettman and the NHLPA for not getting things done and COMPROMISING and meeting halfway with certain demands. So what if certain teams cant “play” up to par with the big boys…They shouldn’t be a team then if they cant play?

Last time I checked, this was a PROFESSIONAL league. Why does all the teams that have great players and have a status of “power house” in the NHL have to lower themselves to the teams that are always struggleing to make it .500% every year by making a SALARY CAP?
Perhaps throw in a special clause that top teams that make it to the playoffs every year, have to give up one player and throw those players into a round robin lottery to give to the bottom teams that did not make it to the playoffs. Now that would be interesting. Anyway, I am sad to see the 2004-2005 NHL Season go to the garbage bin…It’s truly a sad day indeed…but with all bad things come good things. On the positive note, all the NHL players are playing over here in Europe..he he he he. Lets see what happens next with the 2005-2006 season. Now where to by the 2005 NHL EA SPORTS game for my PS2…
