Construction Update: 21 April 2005

Well, we have our new windows in place (pictures to come soon and link goes here) and they are so nice .. it really makes a difference in how bright the rooms are now with a white frame around the windows rather than a dark wood color frame. It also is quite warmer in the apartment now, so I guess there was some “mini holes” in the old windows where the draft was coming from.. now i have to re do the thermostats on the radiators next winter.. ;)

The pictures show all the work they have done in the past few days since my last update.

updates on renovation and life in general in Finland

Haven’t been so active on my blog as I have been really busy with both work and with IESAF ry platform upgrades.

But now that that is completed (roughly 90% done) i can take a break with work related issues to say HOWDY from Finland. The sun is shining more and more and the days are getting longer and longer finally. The ice is breaking up in the harbours and the terraces at local bars are getting their patio chairs and tables cleaned and laying them out for customers to sit outside. ( a sure sign that winter is officially over )

UPDATE ON RENOVATIONS:

Yes, I haven’t posted much on the renovations of our building but a lot has been done. They are roughly 50% done with the “window exchange” for brand new ones and they have laid out the foundation frame work for the new balconys (which btw are roughly 2 meters by 4 meters – about the size of a small room) so I guess when all the work is done we can say our apartment is 4 rooms instead of 3 rooms.. ;)

Nothing new and exciting here. Been studying Finnish, working long and hard, and helping out at iesaf ry getting their web pages in order. ;)
