2 more days and counting

..until I am on vacation yet again, but this time I am heading back home to Sunny California. Can’t wait to see my family, friends, and possibly some old work mates if I visit my old job site.

I cant wait, I wanna get on that plane now, but then I am not looking forward to the 4:00am wake up call, and 4:45am cab ride to the airport, and 2.5 hour waiting and shopping with Hanna with duty free items. Joy!!

Well, either way, I will be back at home, terrorizing my family and friends soon enough. It will be a nice 2 1/2 weeks of relaxation and nothing to worry about other than that my beer is either warm or empty (most likely empty in most cases) …

more to come either before or after I land in SFO…..

Can you find the man within 3 seconds?

According to medical experiments:
If you can find the Man’s Head within 3 seconds, your right brain is more developed than normal people.

If you can find the Man’s Head within 1 minute, your right brain is developed normally.

If you can find the Man’s Head within 1-3 minutes, your right brain is slow in reacting, you should eat more meat protein.

If you can find the Man’s Head in 3 minutes or more, your right brain is a disaster . . .
extremely slow in reacting.

AND YES THERE REALLY IS A MAN’s HEAD IN THERE!

.FI registration is here!

Finnish communications authorities were swamped with domain name applications for “.fi” suffixed Internet names, with more than 17,000 requests sent within hours after a change in legislation Monday allowed for more lax Internet addresses in the country effective September 1st, 2003.

During the first six minutes after the government communications office opened, it had received 4,000 new requests.

Previously, domain names have only been issued that exactly correspond to the name of a business, organization or trademark. Not even acronyms of these have been allowed in the .fi domain.

Under the new legislation, Finnish domain names can be almost arbitrary, as long as they fulfill “requirements of decency.”

Before Monday, 42,000 names were registered under the old rules. With the change, the number jumped up by a third during the first day, according to the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority that oversees Internet names.

The new law still requires that the applicant be a company or an organization registered in Finland. Also, domain name squatting – the hoarding of domain names that sound attractive with the purpose of making a profit – is forbidden.

Registration of a Finnish domain name costs euro €50 (US$55) and is valid for three years.

Back from my trip..

A great time in Estonia…(hopefully I can go again toward the end of next week (30 / 31) with some other friends from the IESAF.com if all goes well). Pictures will be up soon and you will be able to find the link on the photo page.

Next part of my travels may be up in Kuusamo, Finland (very close to the arctic circle), but lets see what happens on monday / tuesday and how much it will be to fly up that way. — hmmm.. maybe I could use some of my FF miles from Finnair?

…more to come soon
