Well, I knew it was going to eventually happen, but snow fell in the Helsinki area finally, at least that I saw for my own eyes yesterday. Winter is officially, unofficially here. It was nice to see it for a change, especially with a dry spring and summer (not much of a fall – lasted for about 3 weeks) so its different. Lets see how I think come December / January.
Work is going fine and are moving into the “FINAL LAP” push toward Christmas Holiday and the end of the year. Got my second TEST PHONE that I am working with so that is very kewl. The first one was the 3510, so I am familiar with this model. It is an exciting time here in Nokia, and I think we are going to pull through this ECONOMIC SLUMP and come out ahead, making FUTURE MOBILE happen now rather than later.

Could there actually be snow in Helsinki? As long as I think warm thoughts, I am hoping there won’t be snow till at least the begining of November, but as it gets colder each day here in Finland, the higher the chance there will snow dropping from the skies. At least some of the outskirt area’s of Helsinki, (ESPOO AND VANTAA) has seen some snow (slushy at that) but snow either way. Oh well, I guess I will have to live with this and get used to the fact that the nights are much longer now. At least I have a fish tank to keep busy with and my computer stuff. Now if I can only get this Tank Cam up and running….

Saturday

I have now pulled out all my winter clothes from storage and starting to “air” them out as the weather here in Helsinnki and all of Finland has now started to get a bit COLDER now. Tempature has dropped down from 17′ c – 20* c to now -4*c – 5*c . (from like room tempature down to 28*f). So in other words, no more shorts for Rob till either spring or summer next year!

Bought a used Aquarium from a worker at Nokia on Friday. Nice tank. Can’t wait to get this baby set up with african cichlids again. But first I have to buy a nice stand for it as Hanna won’t let me build one out of wood. (even if I paint it black or even grey. So I am hunting for a “bargain” of a stand. hmmm…maybe I will have the “house” buy the stand since they are so animate about having a nice stand……just a thought…

Work is getting better as each day goes by, but sometimes I feel that I am left in the dark in some matters as I do not know enough to understand what other co-workers are talking about. Very frustrating but I am eager to learn and I think they know it. Hopefully they will understand what my I am trying to do and that we all can work in harmony, as a true team should.

Thursday morning….

Really tired. Stayed up too late last night getting this journal “blogger” up and running correctly. Trying to figure this all out, and it seems to be stable enough.

Gotta get back to work. Hanna is leaving for Kouvola today and I have the house to myself today and Friday. Going out with her friend from Mikkeli who’s on a teaching assignment from the states on Saturday evening. Most likely going to see a movie and greab something to eat in Helsinki.
