{"id":406,"date":"2007-06-22T14:08:33","date_gmt":"2007-06-22T11:08:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kemars.com\/?p=406"},"modified":"2007-06-22T14:25:33","modified_gmt":"2007-06-22T11:25:33","slug":"web-20-what-does-it-really-mean-for-us-end-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kemars.com\/?p=406","title":{"rendered":"Web 2.0 &#8212; what does it really mean for us &#8220;end users&#8221;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>WEB 2.0<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nIs web 2.0 the future of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\" title=\"World Web Web Organization\">World Wide\u00c2\u00a0Web<\/a>?, or it is just another <strong><em>BUZZ WORD<\/em><\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Well according to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\">WIKIPEDIA<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Web_2\" title=\"wikipedia - Web 2\">Web 2<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0has been talked about since 2004, and is a continuous development and improvement on both services and platforms that run the web as we know it today.\u00c2\u00a0 By building on these existing services (e.g. RSS \/ XML \/ http \/ AJAX \/ etc) it will become a revolution of\u00c2\u00a0improved existing services and the flood gate opening for new services \/ appliations coming.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I feel that Web 2.0 is a revolution already now, and that we are, three years into, what we can say is Web 2.5 or Web 2.6 even.\u00c2\u00a0 :)\u00c2\u00a0 With services such as <a href=\"http:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/help\/about.html\">Google Gmail<\/a>,\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vox.com\">Sixapart VOX<\/a>(video\/photo blog),\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movabletype.com\">Sixapart Movable Type<\/a>(blog), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wordpress.org\">WordPress blog<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\">Google Map<\/a> being built on platforms such as LAMP \/ WAMP (Windows Server or Linux, Apache, MySql, and PHP\u00c2\u00a0\/ PERL \/ Python)\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0the future of the web is here to stay and more and more persons should be online using these services, to help the revolution continue to grow and grow!\u00c2\u00a0 A neverending whirlwind of excitement and buzz that makes the web just that much more exciting to be part of.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What is the future?<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nFuture is the future.\u00c2\u00a0 It can be suggested on where and what we will be heading toward, but we can speculate all we want until we blue in the face.\u00c2\u00a0 One minute its one kewl thing, then next minute, its another BUZZ word term to learn.\u00c2\u00a0 My\u00c2\u00a0thoughts on the future of the world wide web may have three keys:\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Networking , <\/strong>using tools such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/\">www.linkedin.com<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.friendster.com\/\">www.friendster.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>open discussion fourms<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0,\u00c2\u00a0e.g\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.phpbb.com\">PHPBB<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>affordable web hosting<\/strong>, being able to get your information on the net\u00c2\u00a0so that every person that can get connected to the web has a permanent presence available to provide their pictures, views, bookmarks,\u00c2\u00a0and cv&#8217;s as examples.\u00c2\u00a0 (\u00c2\u00a0&#8211; e.g. paid hosting or\u00c2\u00a0free hosting such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/\">www.myspace.com<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using these three keys will open the door much easier for all particpants of the internet to really utilize, to the full potentional, the full power of the internet and become the future NOW.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WEB 2.0 Is web 2.0 the future of the World Wide\u00c2\u00a0Web?, or it is just another BUZZ WORD?
